Other evening highlights: Tori covers! Tori costumes! Tori drag queens! Prizes for Tori Q & A! If you ever wanted to die and go to Tori heaven this is probably the closest you'll ever get, so come one, come all.
Hey look, it's a new video from The Harvey Girls. This one is for the song "Faster Peach" from our EP Declinate, which you can download at SVC Records (all proceeds go to RAINN). This one is cat free, although Mushi was a little hacked off by that (freaking ingrate). Actually, the original youtube video that we used is here, in case you were wondering. Hooray for crappy editing software!
In other news, we've finished another EP (almost album, missed it by a minute and some change), which is being mastered by our pal Steve and includes help from DJ Sku and the newly relocated Approach (along with genius drumming from our pal Brent Piepergerdes) and we're playing out again soon with new songs written with the help of Josh and Matt. Yay us! Also, the long worked-on collaborative EP between The Harvey Girls and Feedle is in the mixing stage. We'll stick up a song soon. Yay us again! Also also, our pals Wow and Flutter are finishing up an album that may or may not include some singing and sax playing by us (we recorded it, we're just not sure they're using it). Yay W&F!
With love,
THG
SVC Records is releasing our EP Declinate today (April 26).
The cost is 1 pound/UK, which means about 1.98/US (or so). So please go buy one.
All proceeds go to RAINN, so it's for a good cause.
Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSH.
Wherein we move old news from our website to our blog at Vox.
* We keep forgetting to say that Josh Millard is now a Harvey Girl. We love Josh and his banjo.
* What's the deelio? Well, here's what's going on. We're finishing up the stuff we've been finishing up for about a year and a half. We moved, OK? It takes time to get going again. We're splitting what once was an album into a couple of EPs that Simon from SVC was nice enough to ask if he could release. The first will be released APRIL 26th. The next one will be out some time after that. Joanne agreed to give us a couple of her photos to use and we like that and her. We're finishing an EP of songs with our friend feedle (UPDATE: the band is called HOLLAND BUFFALO; Also, go buy feedle's new album). Josh signed up to do the rpmchallenge. Hiram signed up as well, although he's not sure why (Melissa says it's because he's insane). Matt has agreed to play some keyboards with us. We like that because he's a supernice guy. We're still looking for a drummer. John Ralston, formerly John Harvey Girl, is drawing a comic a day this year. We love the NW and Portland.
Hiram's RPM album is called I Am a Bear and I Am Asleep. (four songs and a zip file)
Josh Millard's album is called Manifests. (10 songs, a tarball, and a zip file)
The Harvey Girls will have a new EP called Declinate on April 26 on SVC Records. More news on that later.
(so this is going to be the archive for our website as well as our blog. we used to do this at our website, but it's better over here because we have more room to roam. so if there's a maid at the door, go ahead and let her in, won't ya?)
* We loved playing with DJ Boy and meeting the beautiful Radiogirl at Acme on December 22nd! Please visit them at the wonderful and inspiring Church of Girl!
* Dave Heaton, who wrote a nice review of The Wild Farewell over at Erasing Clouds, also recently included us in his great series, 100 Musicians Answer the Same 10 Questions. Check out the whole series...there are some amazing bands there (yay, Namelessnumberheadman!). Thanks, Dave!
